Ancuta Oana Briciu is the designer of A03art, a disruptive and non-conformist breath of fresh air.
Ancuta Oana's is particularly interested in un-defining the borderline between male and female fashion. After studying fashion design at University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca she completed her MA in fashion strategy and costume design at the National University of Arts Bucharest, at the same time taking a number of related courses: styling, set design and costume design in Romania, draping at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, colour theory and illustration at the European Institute of Design in Barcelona.
Her influences clearly include some of the rebellious and masculine themes of the 90s video and hip hop culture. But her eclectic aesthetic does not slavishly emulate these themes, rather it redefines them by adding an empowered essence of femininity through her beautiful exploration of textiles such as, ruffled denim, metallic leather and precious velvet, with embroidered embellishment.
"Playing with others expectations, helped by the playful and vibrant colour palette, I manage to create looks presented as a compilation of stylistic pieces with oversized proportions. I use digital printing, screen printing and manufacture to disrupt the rhythm of consistency and create a bundle of energy."
